Partnering with the best doulas in Connecticut for excellent birth and postpartum experiences

Birth Doulas

Prenatal, labor and early postpartum support

Ideal for the parent who is feeling nervous about labor and desires deeper guidance and care

  • Trained extensively in the art of birth care, birth doulas are here to offer you prenatal support through birth planning and labor prep, continuous labor support from active labor until 2 hours post delivery, and early postpartum support. Known to decrease labor times, increase birth satisfaction, and reduce cesarean rates, birth doulas use various techniques and tools to help you and your partner ride the waves of labor with grace and determination. They provide emotional and mindset support, practical hands on support, and spiritual support if desired. They do not provide medical care.

Postpartum Doulas

Daytime postpartum support

Ideal for the parent who want to rest, fully recover and be present in their postpartum season

  • Trained extensively in the art of postpartum care, postpartum doulas are here to make the postpartum transition and recovery more easeful and blissful. They often know what you need without you having to say it! Focusing on taking care of the mother, they bring expert knowledge on breastfeeding, infant care, postpartum healing, nutrition, and family dynamics to smooth over any bumps within the home, making sure your needs are met. They can assist in light house keeping, infant care while the mother rests, meal and snack prep, educational support, schedule support and provide an unbiased ear to listen to the parent’s experience.

Overnight Doulas

Newborn care and overnight postpartum support

Ideal for the routine driven parent who wants to build foundational routines and avoid sleep deprivation

  • Trained extensively in infant and mother care, overnight doulas and newborn care specialists are here to help families get more rest in the postpartum season. Bringing deep knowledge in feeding, sleeping and scheduling, they create foundations for healthy routines and sleep habits that families can use for years to come. Parents enjoy a full 8-10 hours or more of sleep while the doula/NCS handles all bottle feedings (or bring the baby to the mom to breastfeed), diaper changes, bottle washing and more.

Here’s some frequently asked questions about doula services in Connecticut

Have more questions? Ready to move forward? Fill out the form below and we’ll get back to you with next steps!

  • Midwives and doctors are responsible for medical care and clinical decision-making. A doula focuses on comfort, communication, and continuous support, working alongside your medical team rather than replacing them.

  • Many people hire a doula during the second trimester, but doulas can be hired at any point in pregnancy (and postpartum doulas after birth). Earlier support allows more time for relationship-building and preparation.

  • Yes. Doulas support the entire family system. They help partners feel more confident and involved, offering guidance so partners can rest, participate, and stay connected rather than feeling overwhelmed.

  • Research shows that continuous labor support from a doula is associated with shorter labors, fewer medical interventions, lower cesarean rates, and higher satisfaction with the birth experience.

  • This varies widely. Some families hire support for a few weeks, while others choose ongoing daytime or overnight care for several months. Many find that support during the first 6–12 weeks postpartum is especially helpful as routines and confidence build.
